The award-winning alternative trade mission is back. Hackney House Austin 2014 opens on Friday 7 March and runs all weekend through to Monday 10 March.  We are based at 721 Congress Avenue, corner of 8th Street, Austin, TX 78701.

SATURDAY MARCH 8: DESIGN Day curated by Human After All

1.00pm: Why do digital and print publishers want what the other has got?  Dazed presents Press Print panel discussion.

2.30pm: 'Whose idea was it anyway?'  with D&AD and Media Monks.  D&AD president Laura Jordan-Bambach chairs with: Anders Gustafsson, TBWA Media Arts Lab; Chris Clarke, Digitas LBi; Cyrus Vantoch-Wood, Cheil Worldwide; Wesley ter Haar, MediaMonks; Fernanda Romano, Naked Brasil. They'll be discussing the emotional connection they have with their work, how they attribute value to it and whether the changing nature of digital production could ultimately lead to the letting go of ownership..

4.00pm: Memory Bank - 'Collecting the Future at SXSW' with London's Victoria & Albert Museum's digital design team.  Hear what items leading thinkers have suggested should be collated for the future. 1.00pm: A new Hybrid Reality, how digital and the physical collide. Talk by Marcus Fairs, Dezeen

2.30pm: Growing Up - from start up to IPO.  Panel discussion with David Epstein from Gensler and Charles Armstrong from The Trampery. How are cities like Austin and East London responding to the demands of rapidly growing creative industries?

4.00pm: Millennial Mentoring Grand Finale.  Students from Hackney and Austin's Community Colleges show and discuss the programme and have their say along with a panel of business supporters.

6.00-9.30pm: Mixer with Nordic Connection supported by Oslo Business Region and IKT-Norge feat. Mixcloud and dollop.  Join us for free beer and meet guys from Europe's fastest emerging creative tech region.
